Muddy Machines are developing Sprout, an autonomous crop harvesting robot, built to address the UK’s agricultural labour shortage. Their collaboration with Plus X delivered new mechanical parts and a bodywork design, which they were able to prototype at Plus X using 3D printing in preparation for their first field trial. Using this design, we then created a 1:10 scale visual model, showing the vision for Sprout.
Muddy Machines graduated from the accelerator with new manufacturable bodywork, in addition to improvements to their mechanical and electrical design. This allowed them to test Sprout Mk.II in the harvest season. They also have powerful new marketing assets, including a scale visual model of Sprout, and a set of photorealistic renders.
