O-Innovations is working on an omni-directional wind turbine, capable of harnessing chaotic urban winds to generate electricity. They came to the accelerator with a Dyson Award-winning design, and performance estimations from virtual testing. We helped them turn this into a carbon fibre physical prototype, which we tested in a wind tunnel to get real world metrics.
Armed with a functional prototype, O-Innovations were able to raise further Innovate UK funding, and are now developing a new version of the turbine, based off the results from the wind tunnel testing. They’re currently working towards a pilot launch of their turbine.
